Safety
All activities are geared to the participant’s abilities, age and prevailing weather. Newlands operate well within the guidelines laid down by the Department of Education and National Governing Bodies as well as having our Adventure Activities Licence (A.A.L.A).
We operate a strict participant / Instructor ratio, again in accordance with the set guidelines and Newlands activities are run with groups of either 8 (Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Canoeing, Rock Climbing)or 10 people (Ghyll Scramble / High Ropes / Archery / Orienteering / Mountain Walking / Team Building). We never go over the set ratio and if you are participating adult accompanying children, you have to be included in the group total.
We provide all the safety equipment required and all Instructional staff are DBS checked and first aid qualified.
